About Epitalon
Epitalon, also spelled epithalon, is a short synthetic peptide of just four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine. It was designed to reproduce the activity of epithalamin, an extract of the pineal gland, the small gland that sets our sleep-wake rhythm through melatonin. Epitalon is best known from research on telomerase, the enzyme that protects the protective caps at the ends of our chromosomes, and on the body clock. That makes it a staple in longevity research.
