About Melanotan I
Skin darkens when pigment cells called melanocytes are told to produce more melanin, and one of the main messengers behind that instruction is the hormone α-MSH. Melanotan I, also known as afamelanotide, is a longer-lasting, lab-made version of that hormone. It acts mainly on the MC1 receptor, the one most closely tied to pigmentation, which makes it more targeted than its sibling Melanotan II. It is studied in research on tanning, melanin and the skin's response to UV light. Veyron supplies 10 mg vials.
